Time For A Walk

I enjoy being outdoors. Just walking around, checking out various plants and animals makes me happy. Talking to the birds. trying to convince my dog not to eat the flowers. Fun stuff like that.

I enjoy Pine Grove Park in Milton this time of year. The rhododendrons are pretty much spectacular.

They hide along many of the parks trails, just waiting to pop out and surprise you. And there have been some nice ones this year. I’m not sure of all the details, but a great deal of work has gone into planting these rhododendrons over the years. It has been an ongoing project and it certainly makes a nice impression.

There are a number of great spots around the area to take a walk. A number of them provide some pretty nice scenery. We really do live in a pretty nice area.

I usual mention this one in particular this time of year because of the rhododendrons. I’m a big fan of the things and have several around my yard. I just don’t quite have the same sort of space as the park does, so I can’t hide them amoung various trees.

Oh, and another bonus, most of the trails in the park are cut well back, so you shouldn’t run across too many ticks. Blackflies and mosquitoes? You’ll find plenty of them, so be prepared. But it is quite possible to take a walk and not go wading through many bushes.

Now that we can travel around a bit, it’s a good excuse to take a drive. And a walk. I’m sure you can think of a few other places in ne4ed of a visit.
