Today is Pink Shirt day! A Global Day against bullying.
The event began in 2007 when Grade 12 students David Shepherd and Travis Price witnessed 9th grade student Chuck McNeill being bullied for wearing a pink polo shirt during his first day at school at Central Kings Rural High School.
Yes…This Global Day all began in Cambridge, NS.
The next day David and Travis gave out pink shirts to the male students to wear in a show of solidarity and to fight against bullying.
1 in 5 kids are affected by bullying. Bullying destroys self-esteem, confidence and is something that shouldn’t be tolerated.
