When we first moved into our new studios on North Street we had some real problems with the air conditioning. It wouldn’t work outside of 9 to 5 office hours so those of us working early in the morning or late in the afternoon would sweat and suffocate.
I got into the habit of running a fan, opening the studio door and turning the thermostat as low as possible to keep the heat from coming on.
However, we have very large windows on two sides of the studio, and at sunrise that hot sun would start to bake the studio like an oven.
But at nine o’clock the air conditioning would come on with a vengeance and freeze the rest of the announcers. (I know some kept a parka handy for those days)
The temperature at work can be more than a pet peeve.
Is it too cold or too hot where you work?
