Too Many Choices And Not Enough

I started looking at streaming services over the weekend. Mostly because I couldn’t find much to watch on TV. I looked, but I still couldn’t find much.

While I couldn’t find much worth watching on regular TV, which got me looking in the first place, it didn’t take me too long to figure out I would very quickly get to the same situation no matter what I where I was getting my programming.

In many ways, it almost seems that regular network television has just given up. There’s not a lot to pick from, and not a lot new that seems to be coming along. I see ads for new shows, but most of those are running on streaming services, and when I started looking into them, it didn’t take long to figure out there wasn’t a whole lot more being offered there.

I hear of people swapping streaming services every few months, watching what one has to offer, then switching to another. They seem to work their way through a few of them and go back and start over again. They seem to have a rotation of streaming services they work through.

I don’t spend a lot of time watching television in the first place, but on those few occasions, like this time of year, it would be nice to find something to watch.

Maybe we’re just running out of stories, since it seems a lot of what pops up are reboots of things I saw before, years ago.

There just doesn’t seem to be a whole lot to pick from, no matter where you look. Maybe I’ll just pick up a good book.
