Transport trail will connect Bridgewater and Osprey Village

Following a funding announcement made earlier this week, the MODL is now moving forward with its plans for an active transport trail between Osprey Village and Bridgewater.

Currently, if you wanted to travel between the communities on foot you have to walk over two exit ramps for Highway 103. MODL Mayor Carolyn Bolivar Getson noted during the announcement that they have been lucky so far that there haven’t been any serious accidents as a result.

The new trail will run parallel to Highway 10 and LaHave street and it will include a walking path and bridge that will be built on the southern side of the existing overpass.

Construction is expected to begin this spring, and if weather permits it’s scheduled to be completed by next winter.
