Tropical Cyclone Information statement issued for Philippe

It looks like Philippe will impact Nova Scotia this weekend.

It’s tracking towards the Gulf of Maine Saturday night as a post-tropical storm.

Environment Canada says the windy side of the storm is expected ot spread through the province, with the highest gusts in Western N.S.

Elevated water levels and rough surf can be expected along the Atlantic coast, but it will be less of an impact than Lee a few weeks ago.

The forecaster says there’s a small chance Philippe could become a hurricane as it moves north.

They say it’s too soon still to know if winds will be impactful, and most of the heavy rain from the storm will fall over Maine.
