Valley beat Lumberjacks 5-4 in SO

The Valley Wildcats were badly outshot but still picked up the 5-4 shootout win over the South Shore Lumberjacks.

The Jacks outshot Valley 44-20 and Riley Spears had two goals in the loss on Friday night.

The game at the Lunenburg County Lifestyle Centre honoured the teams overage players as the season winds down.

Playoffs will get under next week with the start of a round robin tournament to determine seeding.

All teams will make the playoffs except for the Edmundston Blizzard. They have forfeited the remainder of the season due to rising COVID-19 cases in northern New Brunswick.

The Jacks will host the Truro Bearcats on Saturday night at the LCLC.

It’s the final regular season home game.
