It’s been happening all year. There have been a lot of virtual gatherings for various shows and concerts and it’s nice to see that continuing into the Christmas season.
I’ll be honest, I was missing the annual Liverpool Kiwanis Christmas Concert. It has been a part of the community for many years. Eighty-nine, if anyone is counting. This would have been the eighty-ninth.
I have not been to all of them. And no, I have not been the host for all of them. Although I have been there for a good number of them.
There are quite a few in my memory over the years. My father, who loved to sing in various choirs, sang in many, so I was in the audience when I was younger. Then I was asked to host and have been doing that for over twenty years. My children were in the Mersey Band at one time, so they were also part of the shows. It has been a part of the family Christmas for quite a while.
So even though I knew it was coming, the fact that this year’s concert was cancelled was a bit of a disappointment.
But the Liverpool Kiwanis Club decided not to let an entire year go by without a community Christmas concert, so, this Sunday, they are hosting a virtual Liverpool Kiwanis Christmas concert on their Facebook page. https://www.facebook.com/events/923411478430000
It starts at 7:00, so try not to be late. Although we can save a seat for you. And they will be taking donations online as well.
