I’ll admit, I almost forgot. Yesterday was a bit of a wake up call. Although it was still easy to miss.
I got up yesterday and headed for work without a thought to any precipitation of the white variety. There was none. But as I drove down the highway, I came to a point where suddenly, all the windows in the car started to steam up. Then I started to notice little bits of snow residue here and there. And cars with snow on them driving past.
It was a bit of a shock. I’m not ready for winter. What was happening?
Whether I’m ready or not, colder weather is coming. You don’t have to look far to find snow in the forecast, and it won’t be long before it finds us.
So I guess it’s time. Time to put on my fedora, pick up my whip and play Indiana Jones, heading off into the wilderness of the garage, searching for my winter tires. I know there in there somewhere. I’m just hoping there are no large round boulders in the way. Or snakes. Unlike Indie, I don’t hate snakes. I just don’t want to find them guarding my snow tires.
But I guess I’ve left it long enough. It wasn’t on purpose. We’ve had a pretty good fall, weather wise, and I just haven’t had reason to think about ice and snow. But we all know it happens. We might not get a lot, depending on which caterpillar you ask, but we know we’ll get it. Time to get prepared.
