This coming weekend and the following one are the biggest weekends for putting up the Christmas tree. And boy, are there ever a lot of rules!
Some of these rules we learned from our parents when we “helped” them put up the tree in years gone by.
Most of us start with the lights. Do you start at the bottom and go up or at the top and go down?
Do you still use garland?
And must the tree topper be an angel or a star?
My parents had the strangest tree topper I’ve ever seen – I guess you could call it a star but it looked more like an early Russian Sputnik satellite. I have never seen one for sale , new or used nor a picture of anything else that looked like it. I think I can understand why.
