A movie about my life, you say? Would it be a comedy, a rom-com, a tragedy or a drama? (It’s definitely not an action-thriller, that’s for sure)
I’ll take this opportunity to list a few of my favourite actors, not that they have portrayed anyone like me in film. If you can see a common thread, do let me know.
I’ve always liked Vince Vaughn, from Dodgeball to the Wedding Crashers, and anyone who was married to Jennifer Aniston is alright in my books. Also Vince’s costar in Wedding Crashers, Owen Wilson, a man who makes us laugh but has a lot going on inside. Then there’s badass J.K. Simmons. He wasn’t a likeable character in Whiplash, but he certainly deserved the Oscar for the performance of a lifetime. Jeff Daniels for his very different role in Dumb and Dumber. Martin Sheen for Apocalypse Now and his many roles as the President of the U.S. Tim Robbins for his role in Shawshank Redemption, Tom Hanks for bringing Forrest Gump to life, and Ben Stiller for just about any movie he’s appeared in, although I liked him best in There’s Something About Mary.
Now if they could just get a Dodgeball 2 happening…
