Woman’s liver injured during arrest: SiRT

SiRT is investigating after a woman had her liver injured during an arrest.

Officers responded to a domestic dispute on July 16, where police took a woman into custody.

In the process, SiRT says an officer took the woman to the ground.

When she was released and examined at a hospital, a doctor diagnosed her with an injured liver.

Because of how serious the injury was, SiRT has taken over the investigation.

The organization looks into any death, injury or crime that may have been caused by a police officer.
