If you’ve got something that you don’t want police to find, make sure you don’t dial them by accident.
Corporal Jennifer Clarke says that’s what happened Monday when officers responded to a mis-dialled 911 call from a residence in Chebogue.
“We went to the home to make sure there wasn’t an emergency. Sometimes look for different queues to determine if we need to go into the home to make sure there’s no emergency. So, we went inside the house, with the permission of the homeowner, and discovered 100 firearms in the home.”
She said included were 94 long guns and six handguns, none of which were properly secured.
The individual was arrested for Unsafe Storage of a Firearm, and the guns were seized.
The homeowner was released and is scheduled to appear in Yarmouth Provincial Court in October.
