You Win The 70 Million Lottery – Now What?

The richest lottery prize in Canadian history didn’t go Friday night, so we have another chance later this week. And that got my wife and I talking about what we would do with 70 million.

That’s a lot of money and a lot of changes. Here’s where we agree and disagree. She says the grandkids and kids get a million each, I say a million doesn’t go as far as it used to, so 2 million each.

She countered with the government takes their cut, so we have to be frugal.

After I cleaned up the mess I made by spraying coffee everywhere I somewhat agreed with her.

I asked what she would do with her time since we wouldn’t need to work anymore, and she suggested running some charities. That sounded like a good idea so I asked what charities we should support. She says number one would be cats because cats don’t get as much charitable action as dogs do. Is that true? I will have to research that but if it is true than I could get behind that.

After our kitty charitable foundation gets off the ground I want to combat plastic pollution in our oceans and global warming through grants to people working on solutions. She wants nothing to do with that. She was more focused on getting a custom home on a lake with all the solar panels and wind turbines needed to live off the grid. I like that idea, because I’m as fed up with the constant power failures here as she is. So we do agree, but I can see I need to work on getting her more interested in the ecology and environment. Which is not as much fun as purring kitties.

Maybe that’s how we got to this point?
