Youth Funding From NDP, Liberal Platform Expected

Young people would get more help under an NDP government according to Jagmeet Singh.

The party leader says on top of addressing gangs and drug-related crime by investing in the RCMP, he will also work to keep young people on a good path.

He says experts, community organizations, and families who have lost loved ones are urging him to take action.

“They want to see some change, they want to see young people have a brighter future. We want to invest directly into youth programs–$100 million to help out with things like after-school programs, with youth drop-in centres, just to help and provide supports for youth so they have a brighter future.”

Later today, Liberal Leader Justin Trudeau is expected to unveil the majority of the party’s platform.

Green Party Leader Elizabeth May will speak about automation and artificial intelligence, while Conservative Leader Andrew Scheer is taking the day off.
