19-year-old charged after pointing gun at man in Lower New Cornwall

A man has been charged after he was reported to be pointing a gun at another man at a home on Riverside Drive in Lower New Cornwall.

Lunenburg District RCMP say they responded to the report just before 5:30 on Monday evening.

Upon arrival, officers say they quickly found the suspect outside the property and safely arrested him. The 21-year-old victim was not hurt.

Officers say the two men were known to eachother.

On Tuesday, as part of the investigation, a search warrant was executed for the home where officers seized a gun, ammunition, and an off-highway vehicle.

The suspect, 19, was charged with multiple offenses including unauthorized possession of a firearm and two counts of careless use of a firearm.

He appeared in Bridgewater Provincial Court on Tuesday and was released on conditions, with his next court date scheduled for July 22.

Officers say the investigation is ongoing.
