44-year-old Halifax man killed in Pleasant River crash

A 44-year-old man from the Halifax Regional Municipality died in a crash on Highway 208 in Pleasant River on Friday afternoon.

Queens District RCMP say emergency crews responded around 1:20 p.m. after a Mercedes Sprinter van left the road near the 4200 block and ended up in a ditch. The driver, who was the only person in the vehicle, was pronounced dead at the scene.

A collision reconstructionist examined the site, and the investigation is ongoing. The highway was closed for several hours but has since reopened.
