Just A Little Twist

How did I not know this?

I am willing to admit, I’m not good at wrapping. Nice, tight, neat corners are not my thing. And unless I go for the really expensive wrapping paper… you know… the kind with the lines on the back… a straight cut is out of the question. And even if I get the special paper with the lines on the back, that just marginally increases my ability to cut straight.

For me, wrapping is basically about trying to get the thing on the inside to not be showing on the outside. If that can be accomplished, I consider the process a success and pour another eggnog in celebration.

The fact that I an pouring “another” eggnog may have a relationship with my ability to wrap, but let’s not go there.

Then there is this. I stumbled on this and basically sat around slack jawed staring in amazement. How many times have I cut the paper a little too short and put at risk my standing on the nice list with language describing my wrapping skills that is decidedly not nice? How many times have I gotten down to the last present and the paper left on the roll is an inch too short? The answer to those questions would be… many. I have done this many times.

If only I had known that all I had to do was turn the package at an angle.

My standing on the nice list is far more secure today.
