For months there are two things we have been hearing a lot, “the New Normal”, and “Change”. This one is not only a change in what we do, it could also change what you do with your change at a restaurant. No Tipping.
For awhile now there has been a move in the serving industry to have the gratuity included in the price of your meal or beverage. In Toronto a few restaurants are making this the rule.

I can’t help but wonder if this will affect the quality of service. But as I say that, things have to be pretty bad before I skip the tip completely. I do however tip better if the server does an exceptional job. Having worked as a server, usually for fundraisers, we always tried to do our job well anyway. When working for pay the tip was always a nice bonus, but never expected.
