As we welcome a new month, we start September with a Full Moon tomorrow (Sept 2, 2020). A full moon often gets people thinking about strange things and odd events. Even the word lunatic is connected to the Latin word for moon, Luna. But is there really a connection between the most spectacular moon phase and strange things happening?

Now here is a thought, what if there was no moon at all? The moon is moving away from the Earth, about 3cm each year, so what would happen if it just disappeared completely.
What living on Earth would be like without the moon
Most gardeners are aware of planting and harvesting by the moon and I can speak from experience, if you don’t harvest your potatoes when the moon is waning, they will likely rot. Tomorrow’s full moon is known as the “Corn Moon” named such because it traditionally corresponded with the time of harvesting corn.
So that gives me the opportunity to talk about kerneled cobs for a minute. I am curious to know, which type of corn is the best? Yellow corn or the Peaches and Cream variety? I would have to say I lean to peaches and cream corn on the BBQ, mmmmmm.
