Promised Jobs To Clean Our Environment As The “Climate Clock” Ticks Away

Yesterday the throne speech delivered to our country talked about the environment and climate change and the jobs that will be created as work continues to fix problems. We heard about a planned push for “clean technology by launching a fund to attract new investments in zero-emissions products” along with the planned planting of billions of trees. This was offered as the plan to restart the economy post CoVid-19.

I can’t help but wonder if the events of the past few months have been mother nature’s way of saying enough is enough, something has to be done. It is hard to argue the improved air quality with less travel when you can look up at a bluer sky without four or more planes going by at any given time. According to the Climate Clock, we have just over 7 years to clean up our act before we pass the point of no-return and Earth’s environmental issues will be irreversible.
