Well it’s Friday, and one week from the start of the regular deer hunting season. As I have to dodge deer each morning to get to work and since I lost a lot of my garden to these 4 legged critters again this year, I am not sad to see this annual event back. Not to mention I enjoy deer chops. But, that said, there is no denying they are cute when not destroying property or damaging vehicles. Often the first thing that comes to mind when someone speaks about a cute deer is Walt Disney’s Bambi, which was inspired by a Nova Scotian deer.

Today, I have a few videos for you to enjoy and this picture that made me laugh yesterday:

The first video is a deer fighting off a dog to protect her babies.
Then we have some funny deer on video:

Now some of you might not know that deer are actually not native to our area. They were introduced in the late 1800’s

The native moose were all but wiped out when deer were brought in for hunting.
Can Nova Scotia’s mainland moose be saved?
So since moose are native to our province, I wanted to share this moosey video of one playing soccer.
And finally, a song to make all the hunters and non hunters smile this morning.
