I see that a lot of people spent their weekend decorating and a number of trees were moved inside as well. The tradition of driving through communities to admire the Christmas light displays has begun as well.
This year we get a real treat and it doesn’t raise anybody’s electrical bill for us to enjoy it. As we enter winter 2020, we will get to enjoy a spectacle that has not been seen since the year 1226. There is a meteor shower this month, but on December 21st we will actually be able to see the “Christmas Star”!

The Geminid meteor shower is also expected to peak around mid-Sunday, Dec. 13 through the early morning of Dec. 14.

Being a fan of National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation, I can’t help but think this Christmas will look much like it did on the movie. The full moon is coming up December 29th, so that will be big and bright and now the Christmas Star will be visible too. Only difference is that relatives will likely not be travelling for surprise visits.
