No new cases Wednesday, $289 million coming from restart agreement

The Department of Health and Wellness is reporting no new cases Wednesday.

It’s the ninth day in a row without a new positive COVID-19 test result.

One active infection remains in the province.

In the meantime, the province has finalized the $289 million Safe Restart Agreement with the federal government.

The province will receive the following in federal spending to fight the impacts of COVID-19:
-$77.3 million for increased testing and contact tracing, mobile testing, border entry control and monitoring, and to upgrade data management
-$18 million prepare the healthcare system for a second wave
-$12.9 million to expand mental health and addictions services
-$19.1 million to protect vulnerable populations, including in nursing homes
-$77.3 million to support tracking and reporting systems, and for personal protective equipment
-$17.4 million for child care centres
-$67.5 million for municipalities struggling with lost revenue
