Sunday will be another Lockdown Mother’s Day!! With Strang asking people to stay within their communities and family bubbles, many of us will not get to see our Mom’s this Sunday.
It’s sad but it’s what we have to do, to flatten the curve. Yesterday we had record high case numbers.
Luckily we have so many great options to do something special for our Mom’s, even if we can’t visit them.
Here’s some ideas in case you are struggling:
SNAILMAIL GIFTCARDS , E-GIFT CARDS or ORDER TAKEOUT
We have so many amazing local restaurants!! Right now, it’s so important to support local. Why not spoil Mom on Mother’s Day and send her a gift card so she can grab some takeout. Or maybe you know her favorite meal. Tell her a time and place, she could go get a meal by Curbside takeout or if she is within delivery options, have it delivered right to her door.
BOOZY OPTION
One of the few awesome things that has come from this pandemic is the fact some places offer BOOZE delivery. Check in with our local breweries/wineries/distilleries, some offer at home delivery or curbside pickup.
ORDER FLOWERS
Depending on where you are located, have beautiful flowers delivered to your Mama!
THINK LOCAL
The pandemic has definitely changed local shopping. Many smaller, unique shops now have online stores, where they will do mail orders or curbside pickup. Look around, find the perfect gift and support local.
DOORSTEP DROP OFF
If you live within the same community. You can also drop off a little somethin-somethin on your Mom’s doorstep. I would recommend a spa basket. With the stress of this pandemic, all Moms need a little pampering. (Bubble bath, Bath Bombs, Face masks).
DONATE IN HER NAME
Does your Mom have a favorite charity she supports. Make a donation in her name. You know she’ll love it.
ONLINE DINNER PARTY
Really, Mother’s Day is all about getting to spend time with your Mom. So if you can’t see one another in person, why not get everyone together on Skype, Facetime, Zoom, Teams or whatever program you have and spend some time together.
