Develop Nova Scotia to Provide Mahone Bay With New Floating Docks

A newly announced investment is looking to capitalize on recreational boating in Mahone Bay.

Mahone Bay is getting a set of new floating docks thanks to an $85,000 investment by Develop Nova Scotia.

The docks will open up more access to both local and visiting recreational boats, and will also act as a breakwater to provide waterfront protection.

Develop Nova Scotia’s investment is part of their marine visitation plan, which aims to help build and support marine visitation and community mobilization across the province.

Develop Nova Scotia also announced other investments today towards similar floating docks in Baddeck, as well as repairs to the existing Baddeck wharf.

The floating docks in both locations will remain owned by Develop Nova Scotia once installed.

No date on when the new floating docks will be installed has been given.
