UPDATE: RCMP Investigating After Four Bodies Found Inside Northern N.S. Home

RCMP in Northern Nova Scotia say four people were found dead inside a home in Big Tracadie yesterday.

Police were called to the residence around 6pm.

In a news release, RCMP say initial observations indicate that three females, aged 52, 31 and 10, and a 33 year old male died of apparent gunshot wounds.

The man’s gunshot wounds appeared to be self-inflicted.

There were no signs of forced entry into the home.

The Nova Scotia Medical Examiner’s Office will conduct autopsies to confirm the official cause of death.

Police say two firearms were located but a but a search of the scene is still on-going.

The Nova Scotia RCMP Major Crimes Unit has taken over the investigation to determine the circumstances that led to the situation.
