A man from the HRM is facing 21 charges after an incident in Shelburne.
Last month, there was an assault at a home in Shelburne, but the suspect got away before RCMP arrived.
On Monday, the man barricaded himself inside a residence on Parr Street, neighbours were evacuated.
The 28-year-old from Westphal was eventually arrested, two firearms were seized.
Assault and weapons offences are among the charges, he remains in custody.
