Lumberjacks clinch playoff spot

The South Shore Lumberjacks have officially secured their spot in the upcoming playoffs, currently sitting in 4th place with a 13-12-2 record and 28 points.

With only three regular season games left, the Jacks are looking to finish strong, as they’re only 2 points behind the Sackville Blazers, who hold 3rd place in the standings.

This Saturday, February 8, the Lumberjacks will host the East Hants Penguins at the Lunenburg County Lifestyle Centre for a special Pink in the Rink event. The game will raise funds for breast cancer care, with half of the 50/50 proceeds going to the Gift from the Heart Radiothon, which supports breast cancer research and treatment. It will also feature a ceremonial puck drop with breast cancer survivors, and Seaside A Cappella will perform the national anthem.

Doors open at 6:00 p.m., and the puck drops at 7:00 p.m.

Looking ahead, the Jacks’ game next Saturday, February 15, against the Sackville Blazers will be crucial for playoff seeding. With the Blazers currently 2 points ahead in the standings, the outcome of this home game could have significant implications for the Jacks’ playoff positioning.

Fans are encouraged to support the team in their final push for the best possible playoff seed.
