If you live in Shelburne and your well has gone dry over the summer, the town wants to hear from you.
They’re doing a survey and the information collected will help them plan where to extend water services, if need be.
Mayor Karen Mattatall says if the data shows a problem in a specific area then it may give the town an opportunity to extend the waterline into that area if people want it.
She says it’s a project the town of Shelburne could never take on by itself.
“Waterline extensions are millions of dollars. As many people know we’re still struggling a bit with the cost of the last one so we really need to have good information and be able to have funding to support the extension if we’re able to do it.”
Those having problems with a dry well are asked to call the town at 902-875-2991.
