In MHL action in Bridgewater last night, Brandon Syms’ second goal of the game 37 seconds into overtime gave the South Shore Lumberjacks a 3-2 win over the league-leading Woodstock Slammers. Makail Parker had the other goal for the Jacks who play in Berwick tomorrow afternoon against the Valley Wildcats.
In the NHL, Tampa Bay doubled Pittsburgh 6-3, Carolina got by Winnipeg 5-3, Columbus edged Calgary 2-1 and Anaheim beat Arizona 5-2.
In major bantam hockey, the O’Regan’s Subaru Western Hurricanes take on the Landworks Gulls at 6:30 p.m. in Tantallon.
The Charlie’s Pizza South Shore Mustangs are on home ice tonight to play the Dartmouth Steele Subaru Major Midgets. Game time is 7 p.m. at the Lunenburg County Lifestyle Centre.
