Mahone Bay needs more doctors.
Mayor Joe Feeney sent a letter to the health minister asking for help.
Feeney says a physician moved away around Christmas leaving them with only one.
“The doc had a sizable practice,” he says, “I’m guesstimating somewhere north of 3000 patients. So, we have a lot of people who don’t have access to a doctor.”
He says the minister responded to his letter, assuring him the province is working on the issue.
Feeney says he understands the problem won’t be easily solved.
But adds, they shouldn’t have to wait a year for a replacement.
