What started as a conversation over coffee could become a reality.
A group of women in Mahone Bay are looking to build a ‘natural playground” for children in the area.
Helen Annable says the idea is to allow children to use their imagination.
“Rather than creating a structure,” she says, “using the natural elements around us placed throughout the playground.”
She gives the example of building a slide into a natural hill instead of a metal jungle gym.
Annable says the playground is expected to cost around $60,000.
They hope to begin construction this spring.
