The Gold River renovation project is seen by many as a mistake.
Now, the Municipality of Chester is ready to move on.
Warden Allen Webber says they’ve started the process of selling the property.
“We’re going to go out to the public,” he says,” and see who’s interested in acquiring that building and what it is they intend to do with it and what price they’re willing to pay.”
The municipality sank around 260-thousand dollars into the project before pulling out due to rising costs.
Webber says he’s hopeful the sale will help them recoup what was spent.
The request for proposals will go out in the next few weeks.
