The emergency department at the Shelburne hospital is closing once again.
The first of two scheduled closures at Roseway will start Saturday at 6 a.m.
A clinic planned for the area could help prevent closures once it’s in place.
Dr. Alenia Kysela from the Nova Scotia Health Authority says it will have a focus on educating new doctors.
“There’s a lot of research data that supports that having both undergraduate medical students and post-graduate learners in rural sites leads to physician retention,” she says”
There’s no word on when work on the clinic will begin.
The ER is expected to re-open Sunday morning at 8.
