Nova Scotia Helps Restore Power To New Brunswick Neighbours

Crews in New Brunswick have been working to restore power to the more than thousands of people who’ve been in the dark for more than a week.

Nova Scotia Power was quick to offer help to their neighbors in the form of 30 power-line technicians and four supervisors.

Spokesperson Beverly Ware says there’s no specific timeline for when those crews will be able to head home.

“Our crews will remain in New Brunswick as long as they’re needed,” she says. “Traditionally we stay until we’re released and that’s until they get down to the last few customers.”

Ware says the two provinces commonly help each other when needed.

Extreme ice has caused massive damage leaving more than 8,000 customers without power after eight days.
