Shubenacadie Sam has made his prediction.
Nova Scotia’s groundhog weather seer has declared an early spring is on its way.
Sam emerged from his hole just after 8:00am this morning.
He took a short walk but didn’t see his shadow indicating an early end to winter and the imminent arrival of spring.
Sam is the first groundhog in North America to make a prediction on when spring will arrive.
The Groundhog Day celebrations got underway at the Shubenacadie Provincial Wildlife Park this morning at 7:00 am.
