The South Shore Ice Sharks Bantam ‘AA’ boys hockey team is league champions.
The team captured the ‘Mainland Tournament’ title on Sunday with a 6-3 win over Western Valley.
Forward Justin Brown of Hubbards says it was a team effort.
“We played hard, played aggressive and got some shots on the net and generated opportunities. We all played a good game.”
The Sharks went undefeated through six games, outscoring the competition 37-6.
Captain Kade Stewart of Liverpool says he’s happy to see the team qualify for provincials.
“It’s pretty big for me because I never played higher than ‘B’ hockey before and being on this team it’s really, a new experience for me. All the guys are awesome, so I can’t wait to keep playing with them.”
The provincials will be held in Yarmouth from April 7-10.
