Riders Can Now Locate Bridgewater Transit In Real Time

It’s now easier for riders to catch a bus in Bridgewater.

The Transit Tracker connects to a GPS system installed on the bus to let people know where it is in real time via the Town’s website.

Mayor David Mitchell says equipment is installed now.

“Anytime see where the bus is in real time which I think is a huge advantage when you only have one bus doing the loop. So it will help people to not miss the bus because there are times where they get to the stop either way too early or just a couple of minutes too late.”

Mitchell says in addition to the 25 designated stops, riders can also flag the bus down at a safe location.

“For a lot of the route, but not every section, if you are walking along and the bus is coming and you want to get on the bus, you can literally flag that bus down and it will pick you up. You don’t have to be at a specific stop.”
