I got the call last week. The smart meters are coming!
I really don’t know what to think about smart meters. I have been generally staying away from a lot of “smart” things. My phone is not really smart, since I avoid using data. I don’t have a smart speaker, because I don’t want something to listen to me all the time. I really don’t want technology running my life. It probably still does, but I can pretend.
But I really haven’t made up my mind on the smart meters. Maybe they work fine. Maybe they’ll burn my house down. I have no idea.
The one thing overall that I do dislike is if these so called smart meters end up costing people jobs so their salaries can be added on to executive bonuses. But other than that, I really have no great feeling about them one way or another.
I know some people seem to want nothing to do with them. Others have no problem with them. I just haven’t seen much overwhelming information one way or another.
But it seems I have simply run out of time to make a decision on my own. But I do know I don’t want to give Nova Scotia Power more money, so they can put their smart meter in.
