A program aimed at recognizing and celebrating contributions older adults make to their community is coming to Queens County.
Redefining Retirement is a five-part workshop series for people 55 and older.
Facilitator Chris Pelham says the program helps seniors determine how they can engage with their communities.
“Some of the options that come up is to become a volunteer, to look at starting a business, to look at starting a not-for-profit orgainzation, go back to school or none of the above and I’m quite happy the way I am.”
The program was piloted in 2018 in Yarmouth, Windsor, and St. Margaret’s Bay.
The interactive workshop begins April 30.
