A 65 year-old Lower Sackville man involved in the sexual assault of a teenage boy in Upper Chelsea has died in prison. John Leonard MacKean had been serving a two year jail term at the Springhill Institution. He was found guilty of sexual assault and a prostitution related offence in June. The Correctional Service of Canada states in a press release they will review the circumstances surrounding his death. However, tt’s believed MacKean died of natural causes. Another man, connected to the high profile case, David Leblanc is serving a 12 year jail term for his role in the incident involving a teen that was chained to a bed for more than a week in September of 2012.
