A meeting will be held for those interested in having a bus service throughout Lunenburg County.
The Citizens for Public Transit Society will discuss what that may look like at their annual general meeting.
Chair Norman Haslett says they’d like to see a public transit network created across the province.
“You can’t get from Bridgewater to anywhere as things stand unless you’ve got a fat wallet for cabs or own a car.”
Haslett says experts will speak about how a county wide system could work with Bridgewater acting as a hub.
Haslett says the society envisions a system that would be used for appointments, shopping and recreation purposes.
“People, we believe, will tailor their lives to suit when there is transportation available. This, of course, does not apply to the work trip.”
The meeting was timed so attendees could use the Bridgewater bus to get there and back.
It will get underway Monday the 30th at 6:30 at the LCLC.
