The Annual Christmas Pilgrimage and Lighting of the Trees is this weekend in Lunenburg.
Trees bought and decorated by local businesses will be lit Saturday night.
Money raised each year gets donated to a local charity.
Christmas Tree Organizer Stephen Ernst says this year they’re donating the extra money to the Lunenburg Academy Music Program.
“This year saw the passing of Jimmy Aulenback, who was basically Lunenburg’s Music Man and he was always a faithful supporter of this event.” he says.
“He always brought his talents to play at the Tree Lighting Ceremony, so we wanted to honour his memory and we figured this was a very fitting way to do so.”
Christmas events are taking place across the county this weekend, including the Father Christmas Festival in Mahone Bay and the Christmas Parade in Bridgewater.
