The fourth floor of the South Shore Regional Hospital in Bridgewater is still closed to visitors.
The in-patient unit has been off limits since last Friday when several cases of influenza were confirmed.
Infection control practitioner, Elizabeth Watson, says restriction is the best way to keep everyone safe.
“We know there’s widespread influenza in the community,” she says, “and so we don’t want someone coming in who has influenza and giving it to any of our vulnerable patients”
There have been no new cases among patients since early this week.
However, some staff have reported flu-like symptoms.
The restriction is expected to stay in place until at least Monday.
