Bridgewater’s first Syrian family is hoping they’ll soon be reunited with some of their relatives.
The Bridgewater and Area Syrian Refugee Committee is raising money to help two of Mr. Al Kafri’s sisters and their families to join them here.
Chair, John MacDonald says they’re working on a long term plan.
“What we’re trying to do,” he says, “is to bring the extended family here which increases the likelihood of the family staying in the area.”
MacDonald says giving to this cause has become less trendy making it harder to find support.
They’ll be holding a kitchen party fundraiser on April 3rd.
