Hockey NS Ready For Female Junior Division

Hockey Nova Scotia is closer to starting a new Female Junior division.

The idea is to give girls the opportunity to continue playing hockey within the provincial branch after midget.

Hockey Nova Scotia’s executive director, Darren Cossar says it’s a natural progression.

“The progression is, now that we’ve got a number of girls that have gone through the system and when they leave the minor hockey system, they’re basically done,” said Cossar.

Cossar says, 170 have already responded to an online survey gauging interest.

The new Female Junior would be a single tier division comprised of 18-21 year old players.

If you’re interested in playing in the league, Hockey Nova Scotia has survey to fill out that will help to shape the direction of the province’s new female junior league.
