Vehicle technology vs potholes

Hope you all enjoyed the less than a week of “relief” with gas prices…
I am sure most of us can agree we are not fans of price increases at the pump, but I did double the value of my ride last night, I filled it up with gas. haha
Actually for the first time in a long time, I am driving a vehicle that is all the same colour for a change, without one replacement fender or door that doesn’t match. The one thing I am happy I don’t have an abundance of is technology. Now the Edge has a lot more bells and whistles than the old pickup truck, but I am thankful it doesn’t measure up to what new vehicles have.
This week I drove my wife’s vehicle to the Valley. This is a 2018, so not new, but has a lot more tech than I have ever had and it seems to hate me.
We went through the Forties to get to Kentville and wow, the road. Then came home on trunk 12 which was better but still needed some steering around pot holes.
The problem I have discovered is that new vehicles don’t like when you steer around holes. Three times the vehicle suggested I take a rest and then I got the red warning demanding I stop and get a coffee. A bit of a challenge on the 103, haha. My wife snapped a picture as proof.

I feel that vehicles should have a “Nova Scotia Mode” where they expect the driver to be swerving all over the road to protect the suspension, tires and rims.

I found the top 10 celebrated technologies for vehicles and reading the list takes me back to when I started driving. Back then if you didn’t have a new car then you had a carburetor, not fuel injection. Pollution gear was not needed and you had to know if your car could run on leaded fuel or required “unleaded fuel only”.

10 of the Biggest Car Tech Innovations Of the Past 75 Years

Since it seems our roads will never be pothole free, here is the question that probably crosses most driver’s minds on a regular basis… To Swerve or Not To Swerve
