Search and rescue looking for woman missing in Cape Breton Highlands

Search and rescue crews are looking for a woman, Wednesday evening, who is believed to be hiking in the Cape Breton Highlands.

Police say multiple agencies are searching for the 62-year-old from Australia who was last seen by her family, April 15 when she indicated she was travelling to Cheticamp.

She was hiking in the National Park and reported missing around 9:30 a.m., Tuesday.

Her vehicle was found by Parks Canada near a trail head in Cheticamp.

Anyone with information is asked to call police.
