JOUDREY, Darrell Wilfred – Age 65, of Halifax, died suddenly on Sunday, May 3, 2026, at home, in Halifax. Born in Bridgewater, Lunenburg Co., he was a son of the late Wilfred Arthur and Erna Marguerite (Dauphinee) Joudrey, formerly of West Northfield.
Darrell had a degree in Fine Arts and later obtained his degree in Municipal Planning, where he worked in the Planning and Development Department of the Halifax Regional Municipality.
Surviving is his sister, Belinda (Ray) Larade, Lower Northfield; sister-in-law, Judy McGrath, Lower Northfield; nieces and nephews, Nicholas (Lindsey) Larade, Fredericton; Timothy (Faith) Larade, Vancouver; Nicole (Jacob) Ramey, New Germany; Emma Joudrey (Ian Greek), New Canada; Hannah Joudrey (Jedrick Sheppard), Blockhouse; Catherine Joudrey, Lower Northfield; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his brother, Scott Joudrey.
There will be no visitation at the funeral home by request. Memorial service will be held 11 a.m., Tuesday, May 12, 2026, in Sweeny’s Funeral Home, 35 York Street, Bridgewater, with Rev. Catherine Robar officiating. A reception will immediately follow the service in the funeral home. Private family interment will be in the Maple Grove Cemetery, West Northfield. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Nova Scotia Heart and Stroke Foundation or a charity of your choice.
